Lescmdlets (prononcé command-l’Ets) qui sont des commandes compilés enregistrédans Power Shell. Toutes les cmdlets sont nommés avec une combinaisonverbe-nom. Un exemple de cmdlet « New-SPWebApllication ».

Les fonctions qui peuvent contenir une ou plusieurs commandes pour accomplir unetâche et peut accepter des paramètres qui permettront la création de coderéutilisable.

ISO Recorder is a tool (power toy) for Windows XP, 2003 and now Windows Vista, that allows (depending on the Windows version) to burn CD and DVD images (DVD support is only available on Windows Vista), copy disks, make images of the existing data CDs and DVDs and create ISO images from a content of a disk folder.

ISO Recorder has been conceived during Windows XP beta program, when Microsoft for the first time started distributing new OS builds as ISO images. Even though the new OS had CD-burning support (by Roxio), it did not have an ability to record an image. ISO Recorder has filled this need and has been one of the popular Windows downloads ever since.

With an advent of Windows XP SP2 and Windows 2003 the version 2 of ISO Recorder has been released, which introduced some new features including ISO image creation and support for non-admin user.

Finally, in Windows Vista it became possible to address another long-standing request and provide DVD burning capability.

L’éditeur prévoit de combler 49 failles, soit 16 bulletins de sécurité !

Ces correctifs s’appliquent aux systèmes d’exploitation (Windows XP, Vista et 7), aux versions serveur de l’OS, à Internet Explorer et à Office (2007, 2010, 2004 et 2008 pour Mac), notamment. Deux bulletins concernent aussi Office Web Apps, la suite bureautique en ligne de Microsoft.

Certaines de ces failles pourraient permettre à un pirate d’exécuter du code à distance. Sur les 16 bulletins, 4 seulement sont jugés critiques. Autant dire que la mise à jour (automatique si Windows Update est paramétré par défaut) est fortement conseillée.

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

Consider the following scenario:

You define a big sandboxed solution that contains some list templates.

You define a web template that uses the list templates.

You enable this sandboxed solution and create a webpage by using the web template.

In this scenario, memory of the size of the sandboxed solution is leaked for each list that is created. Therefore, the W3wp.exe process very quickly stops responding.

On a computer that has in Microsoft SharePoint Designer 2010 installed, the memory usage increases together with the caching of certain objects linearly.

After you upgrade a content database, the search engine crawls everything in that web application again.

When you click Check Permissions for a security group, you receive the following error message if the Claims authentication is configured:
System.InvalidOperationException: Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object. at Microsoft.SharePoint.SPUserToken.GetClaimsUserLoginName()

Consider the following scenario:

You set SPField to Hidden at the content type level.

You move an item between folders in the same list. This item is associated with a content type.

In this scenario, the associated SPField properties are imported at the list level instead of the content type level during the Content Migration API (also known as PRIME) import phase.

The variation system does not remove the web part from target sites when the last web part is removed from the source page.

An incremental content deployment fails if websites are moved to a new location and if the earlier parent site is deleted.

An incorrect order of the data in the proc_DeplGetListItemVersionsFields stored procedure causes data loss for versions such as list item versions during export, import, or content deployment.

The Microsoft Office SharePoint Server administrators notice that the worker processes fail after a user performs an authoring operation. Additionally, the in-process requests are lost, and the integrity of the worker processes is potentially compromised for all the users of that web application.

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

After you move a site to a new content database, the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 sync does not work on that site.

If you change your information, a Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 site still displays your old information after you log on to that site.

The Welcome Name field is not synced with a user profile as expected if the user obtains access to a site through an Active Directory group. This issue occurs even if the administrator uses the synchronization job to sync profile details for inactive site users.

If a user profile synchronization service uses a named SQL instance, the service no longer starts after you provision the service. For example, this issue ocurrs when you stop the service.

You cannot obtain most activity properties from the ActivityManager object without obtaining the LinkList property first.

When you add a Windows user to SharePoint Server 2010, the user's properties are not populated from Active Directory. Additionally, the user name is the logon name.

When a SharePoint Server 2010 farm administrator runs the User Profile Change Cleanup job, the performance of the SQL server that hosts the profile database is poor.

Profile import is slow when a group is deleted. Additionally, the deletion can take hours in some cases. If the group deletion is completed in a transaction, many other database requests are also blocked.

If all members are removed from a group but the group itself is not deleted, the memberships are not removed.

When you create a Business Data Catalog (BDC) sync connection, you receive the following error message:
An error has occurred while accessing the SQL Server database or the SharePoint Server Search service. If this is the first time you have seen this message, try again later. If this problem persists, contact your administrator.

When you run a BDC import, the import data file is created by running queries on the SharePoint Server 2010 profile store and the BDC back-end store. If an error or exception occurs, all the data is lost.

If a customer's Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) server does not respond within 30 seconds, there is no way for the administrator to create a profile import connection.

Vous souhaiterez peut-être personnaliser le Ruban en fonction de vos préférences. Deux méthodes permettent de personnaliser l’espace de travail :

Personnaliser la barre d’outils Accès rapide

La barre d’outils Accès rapide est une petite barre d’outils affichée directement au-dessus des onglets Fichier et Accueil du Ruban. Par défaut, elle ne contient que quelques boutons de commandes courantes, mais vous pouvez en ajouter d’autres. Par exemple, dans Microsoft PowerPoint 2010, la barre d’outils Accès rapide n’affiche initialement que les boutons Enregistrer, Annuler et Rétablir, comme l’illustre cette image.

Pour ajouter d’autres commandes couramment utilisées à cette barre d’outils, procédez comme suit :

Pour ouvrir le menu Personnaliser la barre d’outils Accès rapide, cliquez sur la flèche située en regard de la barre d’outils.
Choisissez une commande dans le menu. Si la commande souhaitée ne figure pas dans le menu, cliquez sur Autres commandes.
Dans la zone Choisir les commandes dans les catégories suivantes, cliquez sur Commandes non présentes sur le Ruban ou sur une autre option.
Cliquez sur la commande souhaitée dans la liste.
Cliquez sur Ajouter.
Pour enregistrer vos personnalisations, cliquez sur OK, puis observez le Ruban pour voir les modifications apportées.

Ajouter de nouveaux onglets et groupes au Ruban

Bien que vous ne puissiez pas ajouter de commandes directement aux groupes par défaut du Ruban, comme le groupe Presse-papiers, vous pouvez créer vos propres groupes et les ajouter à de nouveaux onglets ou aux onglets intégrés comme l’onglet Accueil. Vous pouvez ensuite ajouter des commandes à ces groupes personnalisés.

La procédure ci-après permet de créer un onglet personnalisé dans le Ruban. Lorsque vous suivez cette procédure, un groupe personnalisé est également créé avec l’onglet, car vous ne pouvez pas ajouter de commandes à l’onglet. Les commandes sont toujours ajoutées à un groupe.

Cliquez sur l’onglet Fichier.
Sous Aide, cliquez sur Options.
Cliquez sur Personnaliser le Ruban.
Pour ajouter un onglet et un groupe personnalisés au Ruban, cliquez sur l’onglet à côté duquel vous souhaitez que l’onglet personnalisé apparaisse, puis cliquez sur Nouvel onglet.
Dans la liste Personnaliser le Ruban, un onglet personnalisé apparaît, comprenant un groupe personnalisé :
Pour renommer l’onglet, cliquez avec le bouton droit sur l’onglet Nouvel onglet (personnalisé) , cliquez sur Renommer, puis tapez un nom dans la zone Nom complet. Suivez la même procédure pour renommer le groupe personnalisé.
Pour ajouter des commandes au groupe, cliquez sur ce dernier.
Dans la liste Choisir les commandes dans les catégories suivantes, sélectionnez une option pour affiner votre recherche.
Cliquez sur la commande que vous souhaitez ajouter au groupe.
Cliquez sur Ajouter.
La commande est à présent affichée dans votre groupe personnalisé.
Pour enregistrer vos personnalisations, cliquez sur OK, puis observez le Ruban pour voir les modifications apportées.

Conseil 2: ajouter l’onglet Développeur au Ruban

Certains programmes contiennent un onglet Développeur, mais celui-ci n’est pas affiché par défaut dans le Ruban. Vous devez ajouter cet onglet lorsque vous souhaitez effectuer l’une des opérations suivantes :

écrire des macros ;
exécuter des macros enregistrées précédemment ;
utiliser des commandes XML ;
utiliser des contrôles ActiveX ;
gérer les compléments ;
créer des applications à utiliser avec les programmes Microsoft Office ;
utiliser des contrôles de formulaires dans Microsoft Excel ;
utiliser la feuille ShapeSheet dans Microsoft Visio ;
créer des formes et des gabarits dans Microsoft Visio.

Pour ajouter l’onglet Développeur au Ruban, procédez comme suit :

Cliquez sur l’onglet Fichier.
Sous Aide, cliquez sur Options.
Cliquez sur Personnaliser le Ruban.
Sous Personnaliser le Ruban, activez la case à cocher Développeur.

Conseil 3 : utiliser le clavier pour accéder au Ruban

De nouveaux raccourcis, appelés touches d’accès, sont proposés avec le Ruban.

Pour afficher les touches d’accès, appuyez sur la touche Alt, puis relâchez-la.

Les touches d’accès apparaissent sur chaque fonctionnalité disponible dans l’affichage actif. L’exemple ci-dessous illustre des touches d’accès du Ruban de Microsoft Excel.

Appuyez sur la lettre affichée dans la touche d’accès, située sur la fonctionnalité que vous souhaitez utiliser.
En fonction de la lettre sur laquelle vous avez appuyé, d’autres touches d’accès peuvent apparaître. Par exemple, si l’onglet Accueil est actif et que vous appuyez sur N, l’onglet Insertion s’affiche avec les touches d’accès des groupes de cet onglet.
Continuez à appuyer sur les touches jusqu’à ce que vous arriviez à la lettre de la commande ou de l’option que vous souhaitez utiliser.
Pour masquer à nouveau les touches d’accès, appuyez sur la touche Alt, puis relâchez-la.

Les raccourcis clavier qui commencent par Ctrl fonctionnent toujours dans les programmes Office 2010.

Par exemple, Ctrl+C copie toujours dans le Presse-papiers et Ctrl+V colle toujours à partir du Presse-papiers. La plupart des anciens raccourcis de menu Alt+ sont également toujours effectifs.

Vous devez toutefois vous souvenir du raccourci, car aucun rappel à l’écran n’indique sur quelles lettres appuyer.

Essayez, par exemple, d’appuyer sur Alt, puis sur l’une des anciennes touches de menu E (Edition), A (Affichage), I (Insertion), etc.

Un message indique que vous utilisez une touche d’accès d’une version antérieure de Microsoft Office. Si vous connaissez la séquence de touches complète, continuez et lancez la commande. Si ce n’est pas le cas, appuyez sur Esc et utilisez plutôt les badges de touches d’accès.

Pour consulter la liste des raccourcis clavier pour votre programme, ouvrez l’Aide, puis effectuez une recherche sur les termes « raccourcis clavier ».

Fab 40 templates were free templates released by Microsoft for sharepoint 2007 and wss 3.0 to address some of the common scenarios encountered by SharePoint administrators, developers and event business/Marketing managers to demonstrate and show case some of the capabilities of MOSS to end users.

Discussion about that how good these templates are and in which scenario these are more helpful versus things which needs to be improved in these templates is a separate topic but I have noticed many SharePoint people using these templates either for small clients , for demonstration purpose and even for training purposes etc. ..

Project Description
A set of tools for managing upgradable Features in SharePoint 2010. (Upgrading Features is a means of deploying code/artifact updates to existing SharePoint sites).

You have developed Features for SharePoint 2007, you’re probably aware of a very serious limitation of Feature Development: upgradability. Deploying version 1 of your customization is no problem, but If you want to deploy a bug fix or additional functionality in version 2, you’re basically on your own. In SharePoint 2010, this problem is solved, you can now build features that are upgradable. You can built your feature as usual, and optionally you’ve got the opportunity to specify what should happen when the feature gets upgraded from a previous version.

Background of the TOOL CODEPLEX
SharePoint 2010 introduces the concept of 'versioned' or 'upgradable' Features, as a means of applying updates to existing sites. A new version of a Feature is created by modifying the definition (with new XML or code) and incrementing the version number. For the change to be applied, existing Feature instances (e.g. in each web for a web-scoped Feature) must be upgraded. SharePoint 2010 does not ship with any admin screen, STSADM command or PowerShell cmdlet to manage this process. The only way to upgrade Features is to write code - however, this kit provides tools so that no code is required on your behalf; I've done it for you.

What's in the kit
The kit is comprised of 3 things:

An application page in Central Admin - administrators can use this to upgrade Features of any scope across the entire farm

An OPTIONAL page in each site collection's Site Settings - this can be used to devolve responsibility for upgrading Features (and therefore updating functionality provided by developers) to local site administrators. A Feature must be enabled on each site to enable this.

COMING SOON - a PowerShell cmdlet which allows Feature upgrade to be run from script. (This is the final piece and will be ready shortly, since the core logic is implemented already.)

SharePoint 2010 introduces additional lifecycle management capabilities with the ability to version and upgrade Features. There are some declarative elements such as ApplyElementManifests and AddContentTypeField, but using the CustomUpgradeAction element allows you to shell out to code where necessary.

The only way to actually perform upgrade on a Feature once it has been updated is to call SPFeature.Upgrade() on each instance of the Feature (e.g. in each web) which should be upgraded – new QueryFeatures() methods help you locate Feature instances which can be upgraded. I’ve written a custom application page which helps manage this process, to be discussed next time.

You can use this tool to configure an existing installation of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 or Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 for use with Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2010. The tool automates the configuration of the following features with certain default values, which are explained in the configuration instructions that are included with the tool. The tool will skip configuring a feature if it is already enabled and configured.

The configuration tool is designed to configure relatively simple deployments of Office SharePoint Server 2007 or SharePoint Server 2010. The tool uses default settings to configure the features. You should not use this tool if any of the following is true:

your deployment requires the use of specific ports or protocols
your deployment utilizes multiple application-tier servers for the server farm

SharePoint 2010 Upgrade and Migration Vendor Selection

The upgrade and migration space seems like it’s getting crowded. How does one navigate this space? First let me say that despite what I say, it will appear I’m biased due to my affiliation with Quest software as a paid employee, no I don’t have a quota or get paid any extra for this post. If anything there’s more risk than reward for a post like this. In the past when I’m asked specific requirements I try to push the vendor with the best solution. Here I will list the various Upgrade and Migration vendors. Many will be releasing their solutions RTM +60 including many making their announcements in June 2010 for their 2010 Solutions. I highly encourage you to explore their solutions with them. Special thanks to Owen Allen, Inna Gordin, and a great post by Deepak Bhat “10 Content Migration Tools to SharePoint Platform” which inspired me to not just include the traditional SharePoint vendors, but others that aren’t so traditional and dig even deeper for new ones. I hope you don’t get lost in this list. I hope you find the sorting by the source to be useful.

Solutions “bac à sable” en SharePoint 2010

Ce post détaille certains aspects du support de l’utilisation des solutions ”bac à sable” avec SharePoint 2010 RTM sous forme de questions-réponses. Mais faut-il bien travailler les prés-requis pour l’installation et aussi savoir ce que l’on veut faire dans ce bac !

Le terme français “bac à sable” est équivalent au terme anglais “sandbox”.

Les solutions en mode bac à sable sont particulièrement appropriées dans deux scénarios :

Lorsqu’une organisation souhaite exécuter du code destiné aux employés sur un site SharePoint Foundation de production et que ce code n’a pas été révisé et testé de façon stricte.
Lorsqu’un hébergeur souhaite laisser les propriétaires de sites SharePoint Foundation hébergés télécharger et exécuter du code personnalisé.

Les principaux avantages des solutions en mode bac à sable sont notamment :

Ces solutions peuvent être ajoutées à un environnement SharePoint Foundation de production sans risque d’affecter les processus à l’extérieur du bac à sable.
Les administrateurs de collection de sites peuvent déployer des solutions en mode bac à sable, libérant ainsi les administrateurs de batterie de serveurs de cette tâche.
L’évolutivité et la flexibilité sont améliorées car le mode bac à sable s’exécute dans un processus distinct qui peut être limité par des quotas et dont l’effet sur la batterie de serveurs peut être surveillé.
Aucune modification ou recompilation n’est requise si la solution est transférée du bac à sable pour s’exécuter directement sur la batterie de serveurs.

Les solutions en mode bac à sable sont des solutions qui peuvent accéder à un sous-ensemble du modèle d’objet serveur et que les administrateurs de collection de sites peuvent déployer. Pour qu’un administrateur de collection de sites puisse déployer une solution en mode bac à sable, un administrateur de batterie de serveurs doit configurer la batterie de serveurs pour utiliser les solutions en mode bac à sable. Il est important de planifier le moment et les conditions où l’administrateur de batterie de serveurs autorise les solutions en mode bac à sable dans la batterie de serveurs.

Contenu non autorisé pour une solution en bac à sable

Une solution SharePoint Foundation doit contenir le fichier de configuration nommé manifest.xml et peut également contenir des fichiers de configuration supplémentaires et des assemblys. Si la solution s’exécute dans un bac à sable, l’assembly et les fichiers de configuration sont limités quant à leur contenu.

La liste suivante répertorie les opérations les plus courantes qu’un assembly qui s’exécute dans un bac à sable ne peut pas faire.

Se connecter aux ressources qui ne se trouvent pas sur le serveur local.
Accéder à une base de données.
Modifier le modèle de threading.
Appeler du code non managé.
Écrire sur disque.
Accéder aux ressources dans une autre collection de sites.

Les bonnes questions à se poser :

Une fois que vous avez décidé qui sera impliqué dans le processus de planification, une des premières décisions consiste à déterminer s’il existe un besoin ou un problème dans l’entreprise que des solutions en mode bac à sable pourraient résoudre.

En outre, les questions que vous pourriez vous poser sont les suivantes :

Quelles sont les conditions supplémentaires, le cas échéant, pour déployer des solutions en mode bac à sable ?
Les serveurs sont-ils assez robustes ?
Comment déterminer et gérer les quotas pour les solutions en mode bac à sable ?
Valeurs à suivre ?
Un déploiement de solution en mode bac à sable nécessitera-t-il des ressources supplémentaires en personnel, matériel ou logiciel ?
Avons nous un plan de Gouvernance ?

A titre d’exemple : Il faut déterminer les quotas d’utilisation des ressources (question 9) dont l’administrateur de batterie de serveurs se sert pour surveiller et contrôler les solutions en mode bac à sable. Les limites par défaut s’appliquent, sauf si vous déterminez la nécessité d’une limite différente et modifiez la limite par défaut. Les administrateurs de batterie de serveurs utilisent ces quotas pour détecter le dysfonctionnement, la surconsommation des ressources ou la nuisance potentielle des solutions.

Les valeurs par défaut de toutes les données surveillées que vous pouvez utiliser comme point de départ et qui doivent être évaluées pour l’adéquation sont répertoriées dans le tableau suivant :
